Almost water ready, just the front railing to add and "bob's your uncle" Beautiful boat to build and an ideal scale to my mind. This is the James Bond boat as seen in "From Russia with Love" so lots of pictures on the internet for the finish detail. I'm usoing a simpke set uo of 600 brushed "can" style motor with 40amp ESC and a 7.2 v nimh battery and after the pond trials I'll let you know if that is powerful enough

Fair play Raymond, she looks an absolute corker. Credit where it's due, you've build a really nice boat there.

As Chris says, it's great to see another Huntsman 28.
For me, they are the prettiest of the Faireys.

Fantastic too, that you're passing on knowledge, and getting a younger generation interested in model boats.

Good to see a Huntsman 28 being built as they are less common than the other Faireys mainly because there haven't been anymore kits since the Veron. Also the Huntress is very similar and kits are available for those.

I used the Vic Smeed drawings as the basis for my Huntsman 28 at a scale of 1:12 (like all my Faireys) and modified it so the superstructure lifts off as one.

    I must finish it!

Madwelshman, you are quite correct, the plans I bought for building this model are the Vic Smeed and Veron did indeed offer the 42 inch kit of the 28' Huntsman. As far as I am concerned it's the Huntsman and I had much enjoyment and pleasure building it. This is from a plan so all the fittings, seats and bits n' bobs are fashioned by me. The silver air vents on the side are fashioned from an empty HP sauce plastic bottle!! For me that's the fun in this hobby rightly or wrongly . I also enjoy sailing my models with my Grandsons so I am passing on some old fashioned enjoyment, having fun is the objective.

@Rookysailor, if this model is indeed 41(42) inches in length I'm pretty sure that it is a Huntsman, but a Huntsman 28, rather than the more common Huntsman 31, or slightly less common Swordsman 33.
The largest Huntress kits are 34 inch in length I believe, but the Huntsman 28, previously available as a kit from Veron was available with a length of 42 inches. There was also a plan available by Vic Smeed.

    It looks great!
Typically the model that looks like it just rolled out of the shipyard.

Lovely boat Raymond, but it's not a Huntsman, it's either a Swordsman or a Huntress.

    Cheers, Pete๐Ÿ˜Š
