I think I have found the issue and it is not with Model Boats, I think. I use a proxy with my e-mail server and for some very strange reason, once I downloaded the message to Thunderbird, the message should have been "read" in my server. For a strange reason, unbeknownst to me, the message kept being treated as a new e-mail. very strange and it have never happened before.
Anyhow, if this happens to anyone else, just go into your e-mail program and delete the original message. That seems to have stopped the issue.

You just have go to your "account" and turn off
General Notifications for "likes".
