I thought that Maine was doing well, and it was until the start of the summer. Since then the rates have peaked above those pre-vaccine. We have both received our shots as well as our boosters and we wear masks in public, unless out walking the Kids(dogs). We may not be the fittest, but we plan to try to survive as such........
Actually in Ontario we have seen restrictions have helped keep hospitalization rates lower, wearing masks indoors and even outside if around strangers. Vaccines have really helped too. I am getting my booster soon. We are careful, even after having two doses, one can still become infected. Using a mask inside has become second nature.

Hi Rick I suspect some people just like to complain because they can and not everyone remembers to count to ten before opening their mouth or nowadays starting to type. If you protest you are asking for a response and this may result in some form of herd mentality resulting in escalation to violence. Once you light the fuse events can quickly move on and opportunists will often escalate for their own particular reasons. I do agree the lockdowns and the draconian restrictions imposed have not helped and the ramifications will be felt for many years to come. Dave
Ah, maybe next we will see protestors against golf course closings? We got out four times this past week, but Sunday was the last day for the 2021 season. It has been a good one, no need to protest that, as snow is in the forecast over the next 14 days.

Rick, Perhaps it is the same reason that drives human beings to kill for no sane reason, or perhaps why so many still believe that the Earth is flat.......remember....we are the most intelligent species on Earth, even when we become the only one left.....
First this is me wondering nothing on this site has prompted this.I get that there will be times when we don't agree on one thing or another. May even protest if we are that passionate of the issue. The part I wonder is why a protest escalates to violence or destruction. Is it that some are so dissatisfied with their lives they act out. Is it crowd mentality and they fallow the leaders. Are there factions that come to the protest just to start trouble. Is it that the pandemic is still causing concern. Are we going stir crazy with all the restrictions. Rick
