Try some Bar coat from an automotive paint factor. I use this when putting cellulose over oil paint. Works well.

Hi Jon, I use ezekote to seal all my wooden boats. And yes rattle cans of all types are okay over it.
If I have to paint oner an unknown type of paint I use a blocking coat which I buy from local auto paint supplier.

Hi, I am rebuilding and refitting the MTB i bought and having problems repainting the deck as it does not matter what paint i use it pickles. I am stripping all the fittings from the deck at the moment so i can strip all the paint off but i need to reseal it , can anyone recommend a sealer i can use to seal the wood so i can repaint it please.
