    Hi shipmates,

My First Model Boat was built by my Father, the hull was made with two lengths of 3x2 inch wood, drilled out in the centre, with a large fast bit.

I was around 7 years old, went to Southchurch park in Southend on Sea to sail it, and it was faster than my Dad's yacht.

Unfortunately I no longer have it, nor do I have a picture of my first build at 14 years old which was a MTB 36ins long, it was built with quarter inch ply and had a large solid block of pine at the bow, and was very heavy, did about 4 mph with a 6v decaperm motor, which I still have.

    Regards Roy
