Any idea of the maker of this large model tug

Nice looking scratch built model possibly copied from the smaller Caldercraft kit, as Martin has already indicated. Some years ago there were several suppliers who manufactured Fibreglass hulls and sold plans to allow modellers to complete their model. Sadly most have now ceased trading together with details of the hulls on offer. Are there any electrics etc inside as this may give an indication to its age and help narrow the list of possible suppliers. Plastic for superstructures was quite popular from the late 1970's and scratch building was more popular during that period. If you bought from the original owner this may also help identify its provenance.
At the end of the day you have yourself a model to be proud to own.

My Joffre is an original Caldercraft, but requires attention.
Cheers Colin.

Built this one but think it was caldercraft. It was on display at a shop in Salem MA. Unfortunately the place went out of business n the model lost. Loved making it. Great kit with hood details

Any idea of the maker of this large model tug

Hi
Anyone got any info on this model i recently purchased, I originally thought it was the Caldercraft model Joffre, But this model is much larger than the caldercraft one, measuring 47 inches long and a beam of 10 1/2 inches, were as the coldercraft model is only 30 inches long with a beam of 7 1/2 inches, ??? The hull is fiberglass, wooden deck and the super structure is plastic, a very nice model.
Thanks in advance Des.
