What a striking looking ship clearly showing her heritage. So typical of British built liners from this period and earlier.

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has built this ship which was built in Scotland in 1924? When constructed she was the largest and swiftest motor ship in the world. Her regular route was between Sydney and Vancouver via Auckland, Suva and Honolulu. Aorangi was owned firstly by the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand. Later she was used as a troop ship in the 2nd World War. That is where my interest has come from because my father was shipped out on this troop ship to Africa.
