    Neil,
    I feel your pain.
I, too, have been a victim of FB Marketplace (numerous times).
Maybe there is a support group?

So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.

HappyHaggis, many thanks for the info. Iโ€™ll put the white on away as a winter project, the other one will be sorted once the postman delivers some packages of upgrades.

Watch out with the Interceptor as the plastic around the prop shaft is prone to cracking and suddenly splitting if it suffers any vibrations. It was sadly a well known weak point that sunk the sales for Ripmax. They made an Interceptor Ultra with slightly hardened plastic around that area though the moment had gone and it was replaced by the Ripmax Tomkat

White one is a Ripmax Interceptor 650. And if that particular one wants a new home give me a shout as I've got a few of them. It's approx 20 years old! The tunnel that the prop sits in was a Ripmax approach for beginners at the time so there's less than chance of a prop strike though affects performance greatly. Changed to a surface drive and it has fantastic handling and performance with a FOXXY 600 brushed and a 7.2 3300 Nimh.

The black one is indeed Chinese. A standard plastic batboat design with the twin screw and proportional steering many had with a small manual rudder to help adjust steering trim on many. Again with an actual ESC fitted and rudder. Two new props and twin 540's fitted over the standard 380's it fairly moves too

I know i shouldnโ€™t look at FB marketplace, but yesterday I spotted a pair of hulls for ยฃ20 a few miles away. Turns out it was the same person I bought the RAF crash tender from a few months ago - he does house clearances so gets all sorts of items.

Collected them today as the dark green boat looked fun. The white one (25โ€) has prop shaft and rudder only, the dark green one (27โ€) has a pair of brushed motors and prop shafts that worked when I put a battery on them. Suspect both are Chinese ready to runs and the dark green one had a black box receiver that sorted steering by cutting the power to one motor.

Think the dark green one is going to get boosted. Iโ€™ll mount an external aluminium rudder and fit a dual ESC to get it going quickly while I think about a suitable power upgrade.

Makes a change to have a boat that requires no repairs, fittings/details or painting.
