Thanks, a great site and yes if you can scan the pictures and send them I would be very grateful.
I am looking for the vents on the deck as this is not clear on the drawings I have.
I built one of these crash boats as a teenager from drawings done by my father but the boat has long since gone and the drawings went missing a long time back.
I gave up boats for 40 years but now I have retired I am starting again.
In the 1960s actually saw one of these boats running near the South African Airforce version of Top Gun. Great sound and an awesome sight.

Ed,
Have you seen this site?
https://uscrashboats.org/

Also,
I have pictures of 63' boats built in Maine during WW2. I can scan them and send them if they will help.

Hello EdW.
Good luck in your quest.
Without teaching Granny etc, have you googled them.
I attach a couple of pics I have found but not admittedly of the specific one your after.
There is an awful lot of info on them out there.
I will keep looking as well.
Regards
Bill
PS found the R9 if that’s the one your after but not clear detail.
Never give up.It will come right in the end.

I am looking for photos of a 63 foot Miami Crash Boats circa 1943.
The pictures I would really like are of the South African Airforce model I.E. R9 and R10. I have the drawings from Sarik Hobbies and have drawn the
Construction drawings. Any photos would help with the detail.
