I might have even had that same plastic model boat when I was 5-6 years old - I am now 74 years old. (75 years old tomorrow!).
I don't know what happened to mine either, but I do remember taking it on holiday with us to Paignton circa 1954-5.

A photo of my two model boats from when I was about 12 years old - now 73. The plastic model of the Vospers RAF crash tender and a non specific model yacht. Had lots of fun as a boy sailing these two models. Not sure what happened to them in the end! Happy days!
