RFA Olna fleet tanker.. Fort George was lying in Birkenhead prior to break up, as was her sister before being flogged to the Egyptians (yes, they still have flogging in the UK). The other is Gold Rover, 'cos it's written on the transom...

Hi Pat,
ex Navy and currently member of the MVS Portsmouht don't need a second look to recognise these RFA ships. Olwen, Fort George, and Gold Rover. All scrapped. Not many left now!

Speaking of decommissioned ships, the same fate was befalling the STOVL aircraft carrier (classified as C cruiser) Giuseppe Garibaldi C551. It was replaced by the Cavour (C550) and the Trieste (L9890).
Have you ever seen the Garibaldi?
Two options are currently being considered: either turning the ship into a museum or selling it to the Indonesian navy.
