Hi Roy , thanks for your reply , sorry , I have not been online for a little bit and am just catching up ,this is my Glynn Guest HMS Sydney I made a few small changes , its awaiting ballast and final fitting out in my green pool , not quite up to the standard of Hms Diamond ,They are lovely ships , very attractive , I have visited the Vampire in Sydney .This was my first model in 20 years or so and only my second all up but this is the furtherest I have got so far , just have to finish rc install, this is practise for a HMAS Melbourne down the track but wider and more to scale , its in 144 scale so I was going to reduce yr plans , which I thank you for , I am a luddite and am having trouble downloading them , I will keep trying and let you know , thanks again ....Rob

Thanks Roy i actually served on the sister ship HMS Dainty from 1967 to 1969 a great ship went right around the world on her a very good ship at sea and plenty of speed. We had the torpedo dudes removed prior to my joining her but boasted three twin 4.7 guns two front one rear plus a few double barrels bofor guns

Hello Roy,

Been a while, hope you are feeling well? Though I'd get in before the rush and wish you and family a merry Christmas.

I'm just about to start a new project and blog soon, finally got some time back from work to start a model of my grandads boat from the war, HMS Curzon.

Anyway have a good evening and speak soon

Best regards

Dave

Looks like Newcastle will be back up next year%uD83D%uDC4D

Hello Roy,

Excellent news that you are getting better, it's a long road to getting fully over something like that but with support of family and friends you'll be running before you know it 😊

Family are all good, Oscar is one now, getting to the point of walking, Sophia is her excellent self and looking forward to School in Sept.

Getting back to the important things of Boats, mines gathering a bit of dust at the moment, need to do more finishing before I finish, I've actually had a small side project and built a cabin cruiser for Sophia to play with, not put that as a blog though.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello Roy,

how are you getting on? any time on your ship?

Iv'e done a bit more to mine, just a few minor things to setup and I can get her in the water to test things out.

Finished the mast too, needs painting but I'm happy with the outcome, I'll try and get something online in the next few weeks, I'm doing our living room at the same time so that takes priority according to the boss.

Hope all is well.

Hello Roy

How has your week been? Was the cycling ok? I've had a really quiet week with work so I've managed to get the main mast 90% complete.

I've had a thought, did you want me to send up my plans so you can copy the mast dimensions direct? Not sure if the pictures I sent over are going to be easyto copy into something you csn us?

Let me know and I'll pop them in the post, I'll have enough to work on with the electrical bits whilst the plans are with you.

Have a good weekend

HI Roy,
Very much enjoying reading your blog on this model. Would appreciate a copy of your plans and instructions etc as I had some old Model Maker plans which have faded to the extend they are now unreadable.

My email address is tonybishop@iinet.net.au

Evening Roy,

Sorry I've been a bit quiet on the model front, hope you are ok and not getting too hot and bothered?

Family are all doing well, baby's been struggling with the heat so not had much sleep recently, parenting I think they call this 😊

Any luck with the light grey? Or have you managed to get any time in the work shop?

Speak soon, regards Dave

Nothing wrong down here 😊 just busy with trying to adjust to a new person in the house.

I've been looking for paint suppliers for you since you mentioned it on your last blog update, I've not seen anything other than the small 14ml pots which are no good for the hill or structure really. I've even emailed Humbrol themselves for you JIC it's not a product they sell anymore (Unlikely as I'm sure the RC Warship society would have something to say about that 😊 )

I need to pop down to my local B&Q for some Frog tape today, I can pop into the Hornby model center as it's just next door, see if they might stock it. I'll let you know.

Speak soon skipper and hope your not too sort after the weekend ride 😊

All the best

Hello mate,

We are doing really well thank you, Lauren is getting more mobile now and Oscar is packing on weight like nobodies business. Sophia loves him to bits and its funny to hear her talking to him, give it a few months when he can follow her around and respond! I've uploaded a picture of them

34 miles in 2.5 hrs is good going? was it hilly? if it was that's even better 😊

I've been pottering her and there on my boat, getting the gun turrets sorted, I'm going to get them build then add detail as and when I can find bits. That facebook page has loads of good pictures to reference.

I'll try and get a blog upload sorted this week, I put her in Sophia's paddling pool the other day, she sat really well, a bit high but seemed stable and did not leak which is a plus 😊

take care and speak soon.

Yes you clearly stated a PM was required. Unfortunately many choose to Ignore a system there for their own protection.

Hello Roy,

Thank you for the plans for the jig, perfectly legible, as soon as I can get this built I'll let you know.

All going well in the house, my daughter picked Oscar up today, heart stopping moment but no harm done, she held him well but couldn't Imagine how she'd have put him back 😊 . Back to reality on Monday so may get a chance between emails to do some work on my boat.

Have a great weekend

Hello Roy,

My fat fingers, Oscar is his name. He is going through nappies at a rate of knots, Lauren's looking a lot better not taking any of the gestational diabetes or blood pressure drugs, still a bit stiff but something to be expected after a major operation.

Thank you for the link picture, I'll order a few when I get time 😀

Evening skipper,

Glad the weekend went well, that's a long way over 3 days, bet there is a bit of saddle rub for those guys 😊

Not had much chance to update my blog yet, I may get a small window tomorrow, if not its going to be a while.

Lauren is doing ok, had a high Blood pressure reading yesterday which worried the doctors, we are still booked in for Friday 07:30 ish, probably more like 08:30 then he's here 😑 . Can't wait to see him now, neither can my daughter. I will get a chance to update you Friday night with the ok.

Glad your ferling better and back in the boat yard, speak soon buddy

Hello Roy,

How are you feeling? any better? I managed to wire in the Running lights yesterday, and connected them (very roughly) to the switches you sent down, works a treat.

I'll upload some pictures at some point, need to finish the foredeck super structure and think about how I'm going to connect things up in the hull for these lights.

Speak soon.

Morning Roy,

winning the battle with the Flu? I received you extension leads this morning thank you. Hoping to get some time today inbetween meetings (I work from home) to do some work on her today.

I've just ordered a batch of LED's, Resistors and Circuit boards this morning, I'll send you a couple of sets for you Nav lights / search lights when I get them. Will keep you posted, might be next week now, depends on when they get to me and when I can send them out.

I wasn't to sure on how to wire them so put a Forum post and got some good points from Dave M and Alan, not sure if you had seen it or needed any info on this.

Hope you are feeling better skipper,

Regards

This sounds like man flu plus!

No rush on the leads, I'm flitting between bits here and there on my ship.

When I am ready I will upload a video of my solution on the turrets rotating, you never know it may help someone somewhere??

Hope you get back to good sailing soon skipper, catch up in the week.

That last email was full of one liners. Thank you for the offer on the leads, they were going to be my next purchase alomg with a few 4.8 and 6v batteries. I'm hoping to get her in my daughters paddling pool before long, make sure there are no leaks 😰

Have a good evening skipper hope you are feeling better tomorrow

The motors I ordered took about 4 weeks, fingers crossed they get to you soon 😯

Thank you for the offer of the extension cables, if you are sure you don't mind? Feel like you funding my build 😀

I might have to add a deviding deck behind the main bulkhead, batteries on the bottom, speed controller and switches on top, as long as it doesn't make it top heavy??

I'm not far behind you, I need to get my arse in gear and get building / updates online 😀

No problem, its going to be wet here tomorrow for me so I should be able to finish the guns or make a start somewhere else.
