Yes, a beautiful kit! Although a 12” weighted keel on a 41” boat doesn’t seem to work to me with a 6v 26 ounce battery sitting in the same general proximity of the 12” keel. I may be reading your response incorrectly, but seems as though a large flat bottomed river boat needs weight radiating outwards evenly to counterbalance the battery weight away from the keel.

Mantua models Italy Mississippi 1870art 1 metre stacks 9ounces advice told me to fit 8 inch keel 8 ounces of lead.too low in water , and very unstable I have a12 inch keel 8 ounces lead but my bath I only have 10inch s of water in bath.a 6 volt lead battery 26 ounces lying in bottom front.utube from s.m. Boat show .it's hull looks deeper ,keel looks 12 inch keel,hoped builder might contact me ,80 last year present 1year to build, aged surviving lived cancer and a broken neck .other blogs said they were a nightmare to sail 🤔
