So, does something like either of these fit the bill?

(Personally, I like the second, smaller, vessel).

OK Col, so your 3D printer is a ripper unit and, in all honesty, if your happy with your current setup, then can I suggest honing-in on the file conversion process and try and totally 'localise' that aspect.

The objective being the removal of 'the Cloud' bottleneck.

Please bear with me while ask a few folk I know about free software for this.

But, it would be handy to know what computer, including the model number, and which Operating System (Windows, MacOS, Linux) you use and/or prefer.

Cheers

Murray.

May on the lines of a sprit sail ketch
Because it will be 100% cobbled and redrafted from images of that type of boat , the best way it can be described 'This model is in the style of a Ketch' and there the resemblance ends Col

Hi my printer is the Ender 3 SE bottom of the range, I'm getting results so that's good news.
Now the next project still mulling over because the pond in the town is for sail boats, it's a very strong chance it will be wind powered.
On one of Ronald's post he had a video clip of a Braque style boat , so I am looking for a blueprint of that style of craft that will be a starting point for the project Col

OK, soooooo, but... ok, in an ideal World, what vessel are you considering for your next 3D project, and exactly which 3D printer are you currently operating?

Brand and model number please.

Cheers.

Murray We have our wires crossed I have a Puffer Clyde already under construction, I had been thinking about a larger model as the I'm making is just a little on the small side , the larger plans where a tad on the overpriced side so I decided why not try some else Col

This is the one I' building at the present time

Just downloaded and installed FreeCAD as I needed it for my 3D printer when I get anyway.

The 8 .xdf files I have are fully functional, so you should be good to go with them.

Here's a few screenshots from my computer with them ready to edit in FreeCAD..

Oh, by the way, TinkerCAD can't produce .XDF files itself, hence your need for a 'online' Cloud connection with your current setup to provide real-time conversion from its native .svg format files to 3D printer usable .xdf (eXtended Document Format = .xdf)

Bottom line, your BambuLab XP-2(?), should you decide to invest in one, will just connect straight to your computer and run like a dream. Actually, you could probably just have the files on a USB stick and plug that directly into the printer, and remove the computer from the equation as well.

Great if your computer and printer are in separate rooms, or towns.

Yikes, nearly forgot, the plans are for the Vital Spark puffer, thingy, sorry new to these things.

Cheers.

This them?

Just look at the pages...

If that's OK, I have the 8 .xdf files as a starter.

Can you use those?

I know zilch about CAD software, for now.

If so, I'll just send you the link to the website, its free.

Nothing under-handed about it.

Hi Murray the file was for the Clyde Puffer, now I'm 110% sure I will be giving the larger puffer the flick and it ( once the small puffer is all done 'n dusted ) will be Plan 'B' a Barque Woof Wind Puffer Col

I may try something new

All jokes aside .
I won't waffle on . Keep it as one-liners or there abouts .
Ongoing projects 'Clyde Puffer' this will one day very soon be finished, I have been thinking about make a larger Puffer .
Or maybe some other vessel?
Because of age/eyesight/and a few other health issues I have found 3D printing keeps me involved in tinkering .
I could invest in an upmarket printer or even a laser cutter , not 100% sure about that .
If at the end of the day it's a larger Puffer I have found an outlet that has a set of file for $80 not sure I wanna pay that much.
Or as I always say 'Plan B'
Reading posts by both Ronald and Avoac I have been thinking ....
Drum roll....
Stay with the printer I already own
Search the net for a set of blueprints for a Braque style vessel
Download and teach myself Freecad I have been told it's better than Tinkercad
Then 100% design my own ship Col
