HI and welcome
First sorry this is a little late but missed your post up till now, Yes we at Bury model boat club are a nice friendly bunch " I think " it's a nice club with good facilities IE club house with toilets and hot / cold snacks tea coffee........ bacon butties are great.
Look forward to seeing you at some time, I think this Sunday is an open day with a bring and buy.

Re Thompson's park, the number to ring is 01282 477232 which puts you in touch with the parks dept where sailing permits can be obtained

HI hutch.... I live in Pendle. ...I occasionally use the canal at Norfolk st because of the easy access however there is Thompson park at Burnley. A permit from the council is required (parks dept) I would like to see the model boat club reformed there.....apparently in the 60s there were around 300 members!

Thanks mark . Ivan travel but I don't drive,there's nothing on the club site within 30 miles.I'm looking at joining Fleetwood mbyc I've kinfolk live in the fyld and I'll be moving there soon I hope.

First off welcolm to the forum, Dont know if you can travel but there is a superb club at Bury, they have some great facilities, have a look in the club list for details.

I live In Pendle I've bee building boats for a long time,but gave It up for a couple of years while I battled cancer.I have returned to my hobby now,but I've nowhere to sail my boat.its a 4foot chemical tanker,scale.I've made enquiries but I can't find anywhere except the canal.has anyone got any Info.Burnley and Pendle area.
