Ever notice the "stair step" effect on surfaces that are closer to horizontal? Example, this is noticeable on wedges and curved surfaces. I'm using a sphere to demonstrate this here.
Photo #1 shows a layer setting of .20mm. All layers are then the same so near the top and bottom of the sphere shows those "steps".
Photo #2 (solid object) shows you where this adaptive layer setting is (for most slicers). Select the object then the horizontal bars icon.
Photo #3 now shows the layers and the vertical "thermometer" can now adjust where it the "Z" axis (vertical) you can make adjustments. Notice how the layer height lessens near the top of the sphere. (Use the left and right mouse buttons to increase or decrease the layer height as you watch it happen.)
There are other adjustments to the settings but I am not going into a tutorial here. This is well worth looking into if you are experiencing this problem. I wish I knew about this long ago.
