Yes I know they have a less than sparkling performance figures BUT how often are you going to be drawing 20£
if your into fast electrics then Deans seem to be the flavour most liked by the in crowd.
Tamiya are available everywhere easy to fit and come as standard fittings on a lot of equipment. Consider how many Tamiya cars are bought and used each year. The current demands of these cars are not to be sneezed at yet the cars RUN ok not for serious racing perhaps but for general use they are fine.

I came across this site http://www.tjinguytech.com/reviews/rc-connectors and found the information useful as a vast range of connectors are covered together with the author's personal preferences.
I am sure we all have our own preferences but sometimes we venture into new territory and need something that will carry a bit more current. Hopefully this article may be of use on such an occasion.
