Hi Soft start means you can push the stick full forward and the revs builds up at a steady pace, a lot of the ripmax esc don't have bec, as far as l can remember, l switched the tranny on, centre the trims, plugged the esc and 4.8v into the res, you should get a steady light, press the button, you should be ready to go, if not let me know and l'll see if l can find the data sheet.

Ripmax p-xtra sea sprint ESC

Hi Chris
I have a ripmax esc, they need a 4.8 volt surply. No BEC. Great speed controller, they have soft start, and are reliable. Hope this helps.

Ripmax p-xtra sea sprint ESC

I have just acquired an old model which has a blue Ripmax ESC (as above). It has a small unit coming from it via 3 wires, with a red LED, an on/off switch and a press button marked s/c. It is water cooled. I have connected it up to a battery to see if any thing worked. I used a known working tx/rx. Nothing worked except the LED in the small unit flashes.
Anyone got a manual or instructions for setting up the ESC?
I may well get a new ESC but would like to check that the existing ESC is a worker or not.
