There was also at marchwood a model air sea rescue boat that was a hospital boat. Ive not seen one since or a photo.Does anyone know?

Medusa was in Portland Harbour for many years and was run by Mike Boyce and another from Ferrybridge Marine before they took it to Portsmouth

Unfortunately I don't know any of the skippers but the feelers are out through some my museum contacts. The 1502 boat is the one I think you can hire out for half an hour but 300 quid is a little on my own and it can take ten so looking for some takers at work. Should be a laugh. You were lucky to get before it all shutdown then.

Yes a few years ago they and other boats were at Marchwood there used to be a small show of different air sea boats.I also jumped on a German Eboat just to say I had been on one.They also had a Harbour Defence boat called MEDUSA I went all over that .its Southampton water but I am afraid it’s all been pulled down now.If you do get on with the skippers of either boat ask them about marchwood.

Hi Tidtug did you go on 102 in the dockyard and was it worth it. Really thinking of trying to sort something out with some guys at work.

I have been on 102 and the MTB, lovely boats.

I sailed or at least helped sail an old mtb to Ramsey in the IOM . it belonged to the dad of my then girlfriend .He was selling it to a guy who then flew us back to Speke. it was berthed along side almost of the ASR launch that was berthed there. Presumably belonging to RAF JURBY. We had a good look round her.

It was a visit from Weymouth. I am in the Society of Nautical Research and we have an annual dinner on board HMS Victory every June so my partner and I stayed over on Saturday night and we did the new Mary Rose Exhibition and Fliss hadn't seen HMS Warrior and I am interested in all things nautical so I keep an eye out for ships, boats. This is a great site for gleaning knowledge from other people with Nautical interest.

Great way to keep the funds coming in for maintenance etc, shame about the fireboats.
