So where do you live in Prince Albert? I am in Port Perry!

What brought you to the model-boat.comwebsite? Are you working on a project?

George Turner fire boat Instructions

Dont know if you are still looking for instructions?. George is listed as attending the IMBS at Warwick in early November. I am going on the Friday and would be happy to ask him if he has instructions anywhere?

George Turner fire boat Instructions

I have made several of Georges boats, though not the fireboat. I believe that George gave up mail order of boats about 2 years ago to concentrate on the figures and slot cars. The last time I spoke to him was at Warwick last year. He had some boat kits with him but he was running that side of the business down.He always was difficult to get hold of but this got worse when his marriage ended. I dont think he's too good with computers etc so e mails go unanswered. Its a great shame that he is not doing the boats as they are really good quality and sail really well. Most of his scale boats followed a similar pattern. They had speed 400 7.2v motors that were water cooled. This allowed them to run 8.4v if you wanted more speed. Not really needed but still look good. The drive train was based around a Graupner package similar to the multispeed 601 I have included a couple of pictures of my 63ft whaleback that shows the layout. The instructions that came with the models were quite simple. They included details of how to alter the rudder shape for each of the models to get better performance. There were mouldings for motor mounts, servo mounts and battery trays. Most are quite obvious. The boats handle really well but are a little fast for scale purists. The fittings etc were really good mouldings. Hope this may help

Georg Turner no longer makes or sells boat kits. He is very difficult to get hold off and I have tried ringing and sent two emails , I have heard that a lot of his stuff moulds etc where sold off recently so I would be surprised if he is at Blackpool, plus I would not put money in the pocket of the chap running the Blackpool show on the of chance he turns up, it can be built without instructions but I would like to build as it was supposed to be built.
I saw one at a fire boat fun day and have been after one ever since they are an ABS hull with a cast, light weight, superstructure that is very detailed, plus some nice fittings for a change.
thanks anyway

George Turner fire boat Instructions

HI Peter
Never actually heard of or seen this model. However George Turner has an ever expanding range of models and usually only has a selection at shows.
The Mayhem website reports that he will be attending the Blackpool show on the 15th & 16th October.
If you contact him he may be able to take the details you require to the show. You will need to contact him well before the show as he is unlikely to have a copy on the day.
A quick search on the web and e-bay produced no results, apart from a reference to your post on this site.
Good luck
Dave
