Paddle Steamer Waverley

Hey thank you for the Waverley update Doug, very much appreciated. Be good to see the old girl back on the Thames. We took a trip on the Waverley in 2018 to Whitstable, my wife suffers from MS and the crew made her very welcome helping her up the gangway and stairs, it was a terrific day!

Odd that Nerys!🤔
Never mind. I'll continue the MBW News Agency, Munich Office as long as necessary😁

Hope you can get back into your lake (not literally!❄️😮) ASAP.
Lockdown AND Lockout! That's rough🤔
All the best to you both,
Doug😎

Thanks Doug, I've been signed up to the Waverley newsletter for years, but for some unknown reason, did not receive the current issue. Hope she'll come into service later this year, I'd love another trip on her.

Cheers, Nerys.

Somewhere on the linked page you should be able to sign up for the newsletter.
I'll keep posting them anyway as they come in.
Sadly no further news on the 'Peking' / 'Arethusa II' yet 🤔
Damned virus😠

Thank you Doug for the update on Waverley. Good to hear that despite everything work is progressing and boiler tests will be carried out soon. Hopefully, she will come into service later this season and give those lucky enough to be able to get a trip on her a great day out.

Cheers, Nerys

I hope so too Richard. That's a nice trip you did, Whitstable holds many happy memories for me. We did the Swansea to Ilfracombe and Lundy Island trip a couple of years ago. Also, my club, Vale of Glamorgan MBC had thoughts of a club trip outing on her if she does return to service this year. Let's all hope so.

All the best, Nerys

Waverley entered drydock on March 2nd for her annual refit and hull painting. Some additional work will be done prior to the boilers being refitted.

Her outline programme for the year has also been announced, starting on the Clyde, late May until August 30th, then going to the Bristol Channel, South Coast and Thames before returning to the Clyde for October 17th and 18th.

Although, I sincerely hope she will carry out this programme, I do wonder if the coronavirus will lead to a part or even full cancellation of this and other events planned for her.

Cheers, Nerys
