Frames for hull construction

Yes, I remember visiting the Scottish Fisheries Museum on that trip. My son, Eryl, was about twelve at the time and we did a camping trip from our home in Kent to visit nautical places of interest. We started off at the Pontcysyllte aqueduct on the Llangollen canal, then to the Ellesmere port collection of boats, on to the Lake District, had a row on Windermere, visited the Windermere Steamboat Museum, trip on one of their boats, Coniston for a ride on the steamboat 'Gondola'. From there to the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine. A look at the Union Canal. Then on to Anstruther. Stop off in Edinburgh. A look at New Berwick harbour, Whitby for the whaling museum, then home.
I called it a land cruise.

Cheers, Nerys

Only problem is ,its so popular all round the east neuk of Fife Anstruther,Pittenweem,St Monans and Crail its difficult to get parked at any of them ,we tend to go to St Andrews and come home the scenic route and do the villages on the return trip when its a bit quiter ,the Scottish Fisheries museum is in Anstruther I'm sure the Zulu is still there having been restored .

Thanks Marky, it's many years since I went to Anstruther, but I do remember thinking what a nice place it was, particularly liked the harbour and of course saw the restoration in progress of 'Research'.Have seen her sailing on a TV programme, can't remember what one, but very impressed by her sailing performance. Nice to know of a good fish and chip shop, but with my ties to a dialysis machine can't see me ever getting back there.

Cheers, Nerys

Referring back to this post and the building of a model 'Fifie'.
This is a picture I took of a Fifie under restoration in Anstruther about forty or more years ago.
