Triple Screws
Maybe it was 'Bill the Scratch' 😉 doing a PTB refit!?
😎
Triple Screws
Elco 80' Torpedo Boat PT-596, as well as the Schnellboot s-100, so I was going to order the brass props but was unsure as to the format, I will take your knowledgeable advice, and use the port prop c.c. and the stb and centre clockwise.😊

The Brave class came much later and lessons had been learned!!
Personally I would also use that set up with all triple screw models.
Maybe the guys who restored that PTB just goofed?
Or I've misinterpreted the photos?

Triple Screws
From my research of the Brave class the outer screws did counter rotate with the centre screw rotating clockwise.
The twin screw Vosper RAF Rescue and Target towing boats had both screws rotating clockwise, large torque reaction as they had twin Sea Griffin engines!

Triple Screws
I have read that the original Vosper triple screw boats (MTBs etc) all had three clockwise rotating screws, as seen from behind when going ahead.
Find that hard to believe though due to the torque effect! Whatever.
I have read that boats such as the USN PT Boats had the starboard and centre screws rotating clockwise and the port screw anti clockwise.
But careful inspection of the props of a restored PTB in the States seems to suggest that they also all rotated clockwise when going ahead! See attached pics of PT 617.
Pics show stbd, port and centre props in that order.
Personally for a model I would prefer to have one prop (port) revolving counter-clockwise to reduce the torque effect. That's what I intend to do with my PT-109😊
Hope this helps. Are we talking about a PTB refit here by any chance?😉
Cheers, Doug 😎
