Hi ADIMike. Some time ago I lost the superstructure to my Robbe PT15, it came loose during a violent maneuver and was lost with all hands. I was in a jam, as this boat is way out of production, so I decided to build up the superstructure with sheet plastic. I had never done that before, but luckily the PT had a full sized plan so I had dimensions to work with. I used balsa triangle stock to reinforce joints, say where an outer wall and roof meet. Also, make sure you scuff where you have glue joints. CA glue works well, but the scuffing gives the glue a better grip. Don’t try to cut clean thru the plastic, just score it where you want to cut then flex it, it should snap off cleanly. If you’ve never worked with plastic sheet, get a few sheets and just try making a simple box. I’ll be willing to bet you’ll find it easier than you first thought. If this old country boy can do it, then I’m pretty sure you can too. Look in the build blogs under my name, it’s probably about a year and a half old but I did a build blog detailing the rebuild of the cabin, it might help.

Another thing you could do is to look at the superstructures of lots of different warships and and choose a bit from each one until you have your own idea in mind.

    Hi ADIMike,
    (How's the driving instruction going?😁)
Ref working with plasticard have a look at the links here, something there should spark you offπŸ’₯πŸ’‘πŸ˜‰
Are you working to a plan? If not - MAKE ONE! At least accurate sketches of major parts.
Cover the plan with tracing or baking paper then you can glue bits together on it accurately without getting into a 'stick up' with the plan. Use a thin plastic glue that you can brush on and it should run into long joints by capillary action.
To reinforce the inside corners I use square or L profiles. If the corner is not 90Β° I cut appropriate brackets from thicker plasticard ca 1/8" (3mm).
Used the same techniques (except for thin plastic glue😁) with 0.5mm ply for the superstructure of scratch built 1/72 destroyer. I glued up with thin waterproof PVA.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers, Doug 😎
PS Your destroyer HMS Temerity is very similar to my scratch build, HMS Hotspur. See pics.
Made to plans I scaled up from an Airfix 1/600 kit when I was 15. Since been rebuilt, twice😁

    Hi adimike0001,
I have had a quick look around on the internet but as yet i have not found anything.
How complicated a superstructure do you want to make.?

It is quite a complicated subject to try and describe how to do it but if you want i could try.
