This a bare hull I bought a few years ago, I think it was made in the early1950s judging from build. She had a sealed deck and I used my worm camera to look inside down the mast hole. B & B construction so I delved inside and fitted RC and kept it looking like a Pond yacht. Interesting part is there are 2 hulls almost identical and I am working out a new rig for her.
Hi all, one of our members did say he would like to see something in my harbour. So here are some of them. I have another 20 or so.
This particular yacht was fitted out after the changes made to the Bella yacht. So I had a spare suit of sails which were looking for a home.
I had to move the existing mast hole a bit back. I had worked out the centre of lateral resistance of the hull and balanced this with the centre of effort of the sails and she sailed without any further changes.
The article explaining my simple methods was advertised to be published in Model Boats magazine but has since never appeared. No explanation!!!!
The twin to this hull will be fitted out as a gaff rig retaining the bowsprit, then I can race them against each other with my son when he next visits the UK.
