I built it around 1968 and then refurbished the model during the Covid lockdown. Just recently added a working fire monitor.

Hi Mike I fitted the sheeting to my 34" fireboat by firstly doing the bottom sheets then the top. Each sheet was first dry clamped to the frame using large bulldog clips and heavy duty tape. I then sprayed them with water and steamed them in position with a domestic steam cleaner. I left them in position for 24 hrs. Each sheet was done independently. I then took them off the frame and propped them to a wall with a weight sitting in the curvature. After several days I then marked on each sheet the position of the bulkheads then glued, clamped and pinned with the very small brass nails provided in the kit. I will admit it was a struggle but eventually got them fitted. The photos below show the marked sheets and the fitting of the strake rails, again another steam job. Hope this helps, best of luck Pete

Got one on the go, but a bit worried about the sheeting of the hull. Any tips?

Good to see that you kept something out of landfill. A gent in our club is the "yacht broker". I recently obtained something similar from him. Fire monitor, siren, lights etc.
