This is my most often sailed boat - it looks great on the water and has a fair turn of speed. I bought this from an estate sale and re-motored it six years ago, and since then it has seen more time on the water than all my other boats combined.
It's looking a little rough now, due to the use it has had and because it was attacked by an angry swan which flew across the pond and jumped on it!
Thank you for that comment - I usually consider myself to be saving them from a bin or bonfire. I do like to build my own, but have several more rescued boats to return to the water first.
It can be most illuminating to see how other builders have tackled their models - in some cases I have incorporated their ideas into my reconstruction, in other cases, I have seen things that I definitely wouldn't have done myself.
I enjoy sailing this boat so much, and got embarrassed telling people that I hadn't built it, just restored it, that I bought an unstarted kit from eBay - and then Krick re-released it as a Ro-Marine model!
We were having so much trouble from this one swan that we were looking for alternative places to sail. One of my club mates had two yachts destroyed by this swan!
