I had a Maggie M that I sailed on the Southport club lake for many years and it looked exactly like the one that you have just bought (not a surprise really - they probably all look exactly the same!).
The boat performed really well once I had added enough lead to get it to sit low enough in the water.
The hull is naturally very buoyant and is not very stable until it is weighted down when it then became as solid as a rock, and I sailed her in all weathers.
I especially enjoyed sailing her in choppy waters where she looked very realistic and very much at home in the rough conditions.
When launching my Maggie M, I was sometimes in danger of tipping myself over into the lake as I lifted it down into the water after I had added enough lead to make it sail nicely.
Maggie M was one of my last scale models that I sold after reverting to my first love of classic model power boats that started me on this great hobby back in the early 1960’s.
