Last Battle Ship HMS Vanguard 1946 - 1960 - famously ran aground being towed out of Portmouth Harbour - became a joke that she was going for a last Pint at the "Still and West"

    Hi Pat,
Don't know of any Battlecruiser named Vanguard!?
There were however three Battleships of that name.
    * HMS Vanguard (1869) was an Audacious-class ironclad battleship launched in 1869 and sunk in a collision with HMS Iron Duke in 1875.
    * HMS Vanguard (1909) was a St Vincent-class battleship launched in 1909 and sunk in an explosion in 1917.
    * HMS Vanguard (23) was a unique battleship, the only one of her class. She was launched in 1944 and broken up in 1960.
Did you mean Britain's last Battleship? A fast battleship, pennant 23, built during the Second World War and commissioned after the war ended?

After several years searching I finally tracked down a Hasegawa kit of Vanguard 23 in the US of A😊, company called 'Old model kits' I believe. Came complete with motor even!
    Scale 1:450 56.5cm LoA, 7.1cm beam.
Don't know of any other kit of this ship ever produced. She's a very rare Lady!
Tried to post photos of the original and the kit but site doesn't want to accept photos for some reason☹️
    Cheers, Doug😎
