I joined Taskforce 72 some years ago so my first scale model was HMS Argyll. Never having built a scale model before I purchased a Fleetscale semi kit. The build took 18 months and incorporated working stabilizers, rotating gun, rotating radars and lighting. Running gear consists of Futaba 6 channel radio, ford buhler motors, twin speed controllers and 4x 7.2v 5000 ma nicad packs running on 14.volts. It was a much enjoy able build with many challenged including making many moulds and castings to create the finer details. Some think else I had no experience in. The wharf was also made just to moor the model, along with a few islands just to add some intrest.
I hope you enjoy the pics.
Not really only takes about 15 minutes to place the wharf and islands out in the lake. All the components are permanently mounted the wharf and islands.
BTW OJ: I forgot to mention-
I like the wharf idea as well👍
Must take some time to set up the whole paraphernalia though 😮
Remember running across Task Force 72 a few years back, lost track since then.
Thanks for the Heads Up👍
@ Martin555,
Sorry Martin, but this puts your 'marge tub' delivery in danger!
I might have to divert them to the Supply Chain Manager for my new project-
MULBERRY HARBOURS!!😉
Cheers, Doug 😎
What a lovely build👍 wish I could build in 1/72 instead of 1/96, there is so much more scope for detail, but the extra size is a problem for transport,
how do you get yours to the lake OJ?
The Islands are anchored and can be laid out to for a navigation coarse I am currently working on an Atlantic wall floating island and an accompanying island which are both 2 meters long then its onto HMS Cavalier and 2 tugs All of which are in 1/72.

It is starting to get to the stage where this isn't going to be big enough. 😀

Do the islands float around or are they anchored in some way?
Cheers Marky👍
