Only two were lost Baz, Derbyshire 1980 (built as Liverpool Bridge, last of the Bridge class) and Kowloon Bridge 1986 off West Cork Ireland.
You're right; Derbyshire was lost off Okinawa Japan, NW Pacific.
Cheers, Doug
Yes, it was tragic the loss, 42 crew two wives and a ship's dog. Somewhere off the Sea of Japan, hove to in a typhoon. I saw the programme but remember it clearly in 1980. Do believe six ships were constructed of the same design and not sure if all were lost.
Hope she has strong well maintained hatches and alarms on the forward ventilators in the bow SB.
To avoid suffering the same fate as the original!!😮
Now at the bottom of the Indian Ocean I believe..
She featured in the NAT GEO TV series about ships disasters, 'Seenot', a while ago.
Don't know what the series is called in English.
