    Yes, it was tragic the loss, 42 crew two wives and a ship's dog. Somewhere off the Sea of Japan, hove to in a typhoon. I saw the programme but remember it clearly in 1980. Do believe six ships were constructed of the same design and not sure if all were lost.

    Hope she has strong well maintained hatches and alarms on the forward ventilators in the bow SB.
    To avoid suffering the same fate as the original!!😮
    Now at the bottom of the Indian Ocean I believe..
    She featured in the NAT GEO TV series about ships disasters, 'Seenot', a while ago.
    Don't know what the series is called in English.

    The (My) Derbyshire had three interchangeable decks; Oil, Bulk cargo and container. each deck was 48"

    This one was 72" x 13" Beam, named her the Derbyshire II in memory of the Derbyshire, lost in 1980 with all hands. Again scratch-built.
