    Hi Brian,
I restored a badly abused Rapier during the first lock-down earlier this year and I have been using it on the Southport Club's lake most weeks since then - until this current lock-down!
The restoration was well covered in a Mayhem thread, but if it had not been for this period of "confinement" this discarded wreck would have stayed in the skip as the amount of work needed to get it "sorted" and back on the water would not normally be considered worth doing.
I am so pleased that I did save this hull to "see the light of day" again as it has turned out to be a very fast boat that handles and turns superbly well.
When I saw a "new and unbuild" Rapier kit on eBay recently, I was inspired and fortunate enough to win it (!) so I am now able to build a new Rapier of my own to run alongside my "restoration special" and to see how they compare.
Running on a Turnigy 3648-1450 my "Rapier" is much faster than I thought it could be.
My old hull came with a shortened shaft and forward ruder position and I am looking forward to seeing how my "new build" compares and if it can turn as well with the kit specified shaft length and rudder position.
Welcome to the small band of Rapier owners!
    Bob.
