Hi Rick, that is a great-looking little engine from Chilton Steam, and at a very reasonable price, everything considered. I like the simplicity of the rotary valve control and the fact only one servo required for everything. The only thing I find a little strange is the overhead exhaust manifold, why didn't they put it on the opposite side to the inlet manifold? Answers on a postcard, please. Regards, Gary. (I really like the Chilton Steam 14mm bore side valve V twin, I've put it on my must-have list.)
Thanks Gary It is a wonderful engine a little bigger than I expected thous the need to put it in the Borkum as it was wide enough to mount into the hull and look good as well.Your right on the exhaust being on top the look and balance of the engine would have looked better on the side. The valve works well and right only one servo.

Hi Ron Not sure what your asking. When I open the page you posted it shows a v twin engine. The engine I built is the vertical marine twin short version engine.

I was wondering what a 14mm side valve Vtwin looked like? So I went searching, but it was not clear which one he was referring to?

I understand a little better now.Putting( Gary )in front of your question would have been clearer as to the engine he looked at.
