Colin,
used a motronic d2386 motor with a hydra32 g2 ESC.
Found I had to put in at least 5 KG balast (courtesy of local tyre fitters), need to change propellor as one supplied drive well forward but useless in reverse.
Excuse my ignorance, but is that a brushless setup.
And which type of prop are you using, mine currently has a 35mm 4 blade brass prop. Motor not fitted yet but will hopefully be using vintage decaperm and 6 volt sla.
My preferred ballast is children's play sand fully dried and put into resealable freezer bags usually100 grams each.
That allows me to shift the ballast to wherever its needed.
Cheers Colin.
Colin,
yes it is a brushless combonation bought as a package from cornwall
Propellor is a 40mm 3 bladed alloy, I regreased the shaft and put prop on wrong way( now corrected) and boat reversed well but would not go forward have tried altering pitch which improved reverse but was a test and will look for a better Prop
Ballast is wheel balances also well cleaned and put into sealed plastic bags so can be moved as necessary, dont forget this is my first completed boat.
When I was a child I started a wooden boat but did not complete it? did a 5 year apprentiship as a fitter and turner before joining Fire service so can concentrate on finer limits on fittings!
Great Build! SO much fine detail, it's amazing. I don't think I have enough courage to attempt something like that as my first full build. Congrats on a job well done.

That is a very nice build you have done there.

What is your motor setup.
Cheers Colin.
For a first ever completed model boat it is fantastic.
Nice detail.
