Hi Nick, can’t remember off top of my head but I would think it was a 30mm possibly 35mm but more likely the 30mm. I too came from aircraft finding that you can really throw yourself in detailing!

Currently building the SLEC Perkasa, but re-building the cabin from plasticard instead of liteply to give an eventual artic type finish. I’ve the Tamiya Perkasa kit for the reference to up scaling the extra details I’m going to add

Hi Nik, I buy my brass propellers off eBay, they are made by Raboech and available in various sizes from good model shops as well. Hope that helps, kind regards simon

To get the thread back on track, Basingstoke Model Boat Club has now reached the giddy heights of 84 paid up members so we must be doing something right, we hope.
We have a great facilty at Eastrop Park, Basingstoke with full access around the model boat pond and I attach a couple of photos to show what we have.

Fortunately the boarders, bikers and rollerbladers have their own spaces elsewhere 😊 Although you do see bladers, joggers and cyclists all over the many paths and tracks around the park. Cheers Doug 😎

Eaton pond was built between the wars primarily for sailing large vane control yachts, hence the long shape,and as such is said to be one of the best examples in the U.K. We have a perennial weed problem-common to any large expanse of fresh water-which is currently controlled with application of chemicals. I am sure most clubs have this problem and I would be interested in their experience with weed control.

From time to time the Ostpark lake has to be drained to clean out the duck, goose and fish poop as well as all the junk idiots chuck in 😡

Somewhere in the crud they shovelled out must have been the port prop of my destroyer, lost by brushing the wall in front of the restaurant terrace.😲 Oh well, back home to get the buggy and/or hovercraft out 😉

Hi Baggie, 'largest in Europe'?! Are you sure? This is where I and the local club sail. First pic shows the SAT pic with houses etc to give an idea of scale. An excellent restaurant and Biergarten and all necessary 'facilities' are available right next to the lake, as well as a huge car park at the North end. At the south end there is another large car park, a pub and ice rink. This is the 'quiet' end of the lake.
2015 a new adventure playground was built, to keep the little ones occupied while Dad plays with HiS toys 😊
Very pleasant to take a ship on a 'world cruise' around the island.
Back at the table; an excellent Bavarian beer or glass of wine and choice of Biergarten fare! Happy sailing, cheers Doug 😎
