π For Sale 1/20 th "Empire" Tug.

I have just restored a large "Empire" tug, She is 1600 mm long and weighs about 60 Lbs. in sailing trim. She comes with a planet T5, Two 6v batteries, one for running and one for lighting. There is a stand and a launching trolley. As can be seen I have done a bit of detailing, with a galley, mess room, W.C. and shower, and a store room. I have made a boiler top and the top of a triple expansion engine. There is lead ballast that has all been labelled, as to its position in the hull. I have put the switch's in one of the lifebelt lockers, so you don't have to keep lifting the superstructure every time to run it. I only started doing this hobby a couple of years ago, I get more pleasure restoring them, than I do sailing them. The last picture is the before one, she was originally powered with a steam engine but was removed by the previous owner. The hull is wood, that has been resin coated, and painted with many coats. I live in the Brighton area , if anyone wants to come and view her.
I also have for sale, a Thames sailing barge with R/C sails, and a Caldercraft model of "Talacre" that has been well fitted out with extra's.
All three, up for sale. Andy, 01273 300655
Thanks Andy.

I am restoring a tug that is named "Avon Queen" she is a Birch class Empire tug.I have looked for her history, but only came up with Sea Queen. I wondered if you knew if there was an Avon Queen and what her empire name was. The model I have originally had a live steam engine in it, taken out before I bought it. She is 1.6m (5'3") long 1/20th scale.

Bought as a wreck, first time I have done something like this, have made most of the fittings myself. Completely stripped it down,to the bare hull, fitted new decking the only thing I used of the original fittings is the funnel and the vents. (ESC: Unknown,1970's) (8/10)

I bought this boat as a bit of a wreck on ebay,I stripped It down to the bare hull, and renewed the decking and superstructure, except for the bridge which Is metal.I know Its not prefect but It Is my first attempt at a complete restoration. It has working lights In all the cabins, bridge, paint store, bosuns store etc ,I made most of the fittings myself except for the vents, lifeboats and the funnel. I have used 2x 6V batteries, one for the lighting and the other to power the motor. I am taking her to the Swiss Cottage M.B.C. Shoreham on Thursday for the maiden voyage. If all goes well I will probably sell her, and start a new project.

I went yesterday, there was only one trade stand pertaining to model boats this was "mastman" and very helpful they are. (If he hasn't got it, he can get it.) Also there were no local model boat clubs there ,poor show I thought, there was one from Harlow in Essex, and Swiss Cottage north London. A bit far from Brighton to go sailing. if you go on the Modelworld web site there are photo's of the exhibits.
