    These boxes make good material for creating patterns. I used a large Cheerios box to create patterns for the basswood sheets that will plank the dory sides. With the templates on I can see the curved bottom; higher in the bow and lower stern and flat in the center.

    In my drawings, I created two pieces of #6 frame. One is shorter with the notches to receive the seating and floor boards. However, being glued together it makes a great place to join the fore and aft sheets.
