Thanks for your reply CB90.
After carefully measuring the diameter of the plugs again I ordered a number of the 3.5mm size. Thankfully this proved to be correct, and I have now soldered the females onto the ESC leads. ๐ ▲

Do not snip them. Those are common connectors for electric motors and ESCs.
If your ESC does not have those connectors, you can purchase them online for a set. My opinion. Isaac ▲

Alternatively you could remove the heat shrink on the plugs, de-solder the plugs from the leads and then re-solder the leads direct to the esc leads making sure to slip 3 new bits of heat shrink over the joins. I have often done that on my planes. If the motor spins the wrong way then de-solder two joints and swap them over. Takes longer to write than actually do ๐
