    I bought this Fireboat off EBay.
    It was fitted with a glow motor and was covered with fuel proofer.
    In general it was sound but a bit neglected.
    I am well into the repaint and have lined ide interior of the hull with glass fibre and resin.
    Will update as I progress

    I have not tackled an Aerokits Fireboat, but it is only a matter of time….and when I do it will be the 46” variant and probably a fuel soaked example from eBay…….preferably with all the fittings.

    Yours is a good example - most originals will have been powered by glow engines, but not many will have been treated with fuel proofer to protect the wood and help to stop it getting fuel soaked.

    If I were extra lucky I may even find one that had been powered with an electric motor from new, but they would have been in the minority as back in the 60’s we all preferred glow engines to drive our classic model power boats!
