Free Lance Fishing Boat --

Well thought I'd start a build blog for the fishing boat I working on. The boat is build from an Gifted hull that I believe came from an eBay UK listing, My friend had bought it at some point with the idea of starting Model boating - sadly he died in February from diabetes complications, this impacted me badly, so I thought I'd complete this as promised.
I have this model in my harbour page so though best to go along with this here.
Excuse the out of sequence photos and my build, somewhat messy at times
So here go's

Update on the motor mount. Have had a few hours messing to find the solution, so in the end I remade the mount with longer adjustment slots on the top, this gives a bit more forward/back slide to fine tune.
I also added a TPU rubber base 2.5mm thick that now clicks into the base of the mount and a very thin .6mm TPU slip to go under the motor itself, Hey presto no nasty shakes of noise through most of the motor speeds on 12v.

Also started chopping up my lead ready as maybe get the floating done in the next day or two.

That’s a really nice bit of problem solving there.
You can tell you didn’t just settle—you worked it through until it behaved properly.

The longer adjustment slots are a great improvement for fine tuning, and adding the TPU base and slip is a clever touch.
Getting rid of vibration and noise at that stage makes a huge difference later on.

The mount itself looks clean and well thought out too—simple, but very effective.

And that’s a serious pile of lead you’ve got ready there… looks like you’re getting close to the fun part with the float test.

Great progress all around—looking forward to seeing how she sits in the water 👍
