Hi Garth,
I think you will enjoy making it. It should help to pass the time in lockdown. Will you be starting a new build log ? Martin555. π Like

Garth,
Is the motors and shafts aligned correctly ? What type of couplers do you have on the shafts ? Dose it make the noise when in reverse ? Is there much play between the propeller and the end of the shafts ? Is there much play between the outer shafts and the inner shafts ? Just a few questions LOL!! Martin555. π Like

Grease motor shafts & I'm sure props not hitting hull will need to do some detective work to find noise problem but I'm sure it will go away in the water like way out there !! π

Garth, Got some 3/4β high black lettering left over from my pilot boat.
You are welcome to enough for both sides of your model. If you are in the Ancaster area you can pick it up Rowen π Like

Garth,
Doubt the ESC set-up is why you have the tank steering. Probably more to do with either the Tx or the Rx / ESC set up. Let me have a shufti when we next get down to Leander, think it can be easily solved. Rowen π Like

Garth, looks like a nice finish and have looked at ESC on Robotshop site, Seems to be very open with a lot of components, which look like they may need air flow. Perhaps a plastic project box meant for electronics or just a lightweight plywood box, I think I would try to give it some airspace, epoxy will coat it but may not keep it cool.

I have had similar thoughts as I am building a Pilot launch too but I am thinking I will use one servo placed centrally, with a two sided horn, each side driving a rudder with the horns mounted inwards, in a push pull situation.

The cranks look good Garth - did you make them your self ?Would echo Doug's suggestion of putting a support around the rudder sleeve to make it more robust.
I always use a block extending from one side to the other and fastend to the hull skin and keel. π Like

Garth I would maybe add a small wood block to the rudder shaft to give it more support
to stop the brass tube from bending π Like

Nice seats Garth, I shouldn't worry about being hard to sit on, I had a friend who was a Trinity House Pilot here in Felixstowe/Harwich and he had plenty of his own padding. He once fell off the back of a container ship into the prop wash but survived. A lovely lovely man with it. Is nice to hear about your vaccination programme, in UK we are so wrapped up in our own problems that we have stopped getting news about the dilemma around the world. Hope it all goes well for you. Regards Geoff.
