Crate for African Queen gas tank using Ortur Master 2 plus laser cutter.
I like it!
I was just thinking about the time you can quickly be involved in, when you start a project like this.
Keep us informed.

Here is my little Sunday morning project, a crate to hide the A Q's gas tank. I used an online box generator for the basic dimensioned shape and cut from 3mm ply. I drew up the details, (frame, braces etc) and cut from 1mm ply, these were added after the basic box shape was made. The top is removable to gain access to remove the tank if nescessary. I am very happy with my laser cutter/engraver now I have got the hang of using it and it's ascociated software.
All I will do now is dirty it up to match the rest of the AQ. I meant to engrave some "this way up" and "machine parts" and "Standard Oil Co", I think it was Standard Oil that Charlie Allnut was working for in the film. I would make another but don't want to waste expensive ply.
Laser Ortur Master 2 plus S2 with laser module upgraded to a 10 watt output example.
Designspark Mechanical was used to work up detail drawings.
Lightburn was used to process the designs for cutting. I will let the videos and photos tell the tale...
