Printers

Yes, printers can be frustrating. Had an HP A3 printer for many years which provided stirling service until it became very difficult to get cartridges so I reluctantly took it to the tip.

So bought an A4 Canon printer with scanner which for some reason won't print my Microsoft Visio documents, most of which are my boat drawings. Went for A4 to save space and because I have an A3 Canon photographic printer in another room which prints from Visio fine and at least it is getting more use now as it was quite expensive.

They all belong to the same union Barry☹️
They conspire together over the internet.
If no direct connection later models use WiFi / Bluetooth.
If you don't have either they will use one of the neighbours.
We don't stand a chance☹️

Young at heart 😉 Slightly older in other places.😊 Cheers Doug

Roy and Rod
I must admit the joys of computer and printers all these years have been a boon to my
hobbies.
But there are times I feel like extracting follicles from my forehead.

I also had two printers online at one time. The last time the ink-jet needed a new cartridge it was discarded.

I also found the black and white laser printer was all I needed except for a very rare occasion.

But, I still contend that all computers and peripherals are of the female variety!

I gave up on my HP inkjet printer/scanner after repeated cartridge issues & bought an inexpensive laser printer via AMAZON. I miss the ability to print colour occasionally however the B&W is flawless.

Infrequently i send colour print jobs to my closest "internet cafe" & this small business office also prints huge drawings ("blueprints" we used to call them)

I still use the old HP for scanning. Unfortunately keeping 2 uses up a lot of acreage.

Hi Barry the odd thing is that my printer was using the colour cartridge when printing black. I eventually removed the colour cartridge and when I switched on again it (sorry she) actually went into single colour ink supply. This was some time ago now.

Is it all because there is no colour in her life? When she did print yesterday I returned to do some printing in the afternoon and she has not printed since. But it maybe the ink supply is low?

However the alternate is that it is a non-HP ink!

I have just gone round to see my printer (don't ask) and overnight she must have thought about her fate! There was the last request for printing. It must have come out hours after I went to bed!

I think it is time we parted, I shall say to the judge we are incompatible, the feeling of love I once had has finally gone.

But who would have her now? She scans nicely albeit I use non-HP S/W, which I find the most awkward non-user friendly S/W ever!

She is unmarked almost virginal and has a most attractive little blue light, but her operating screen is so small even my reading glasses fail to understand her requirements.

We have been together now for 7 years come December. Many years ago I had a very good relationship of 21 years with an NEC Pinwriter until they stopped supplying her ribbons! She lives in the garage now, I go in and see her now and again but without her ribbons it is not the same.

We press on and try not to feel guilty for the past. Are we always looking out for a new attractive more modern product easy WiFi and with good connections?

Bye for now

Much more likely to be a Windows Update taking place for your benefit. Or it could be a printer update required after a windows update. Not just a windows problem more to do with US practices. My I phone sometimes won't charge if it requires an update. AI should be renamed artificial insemination not artificial intelligence.

My printer can read minds! Unbelievable I know but this is what happened this morning.

First it refused to print I checked the spelling (bit like a prissy English teacher) , but orl korrect.
Is it the spirit of Windows 11 again she refuses to keep up with the times?
Had it run out of paper but too shy to say?
OK I tried to refresh the printer driver, tried twice but printer refused to be involved.
Had it lost its way? Perhaps on-set dementia, switched off and on again. But to no avail
I went on the Internet to see if there was a Printer strike on.
I thought I will ignore her and perhaps she will see sense.
An hour later I tried again but she refused to look at me.
So I thought enough is enough it's time for the scrap heap for you! Seconds later she burst into life and printed for me.

Like I said it must be ESP.
regards
Roy
