Was waiting for a rainy day to do the upgrade to one of my Flysky i6 Tx, today was that day.
Found I'd run out of channels for my Perkasa as it runs a 180 degree servos for each of the two guns and a channel for the sound unit in addition to the usual throttle control and steering. I want to add 2 switched channels for the water pump for cooling the motor and ESC and a switched channel for the RADAR motor.
Read on here it was quite straight forward to upgrade the firmware so ordered the appropriate cable.
The main issue I had was that I've been a Mac user for the last 12+ years. Once I started using cloud systems and external hosting I moved over to MacBooks, never looked back.
Current one doesn't have a Windows partition as I gave up Boot Camp and Parallels etc years ago. Did mean I had to use a Windows device to do the firmware update, found a Microsoft Surface Pro in my study that hadn't been used for 4+ years, so that had to run numerous updates before coaxing it back into life.
Luckily the Surface has a single USB port had to hunt for a generic Windows driver but once connected to the Tx the rest of the upgrade was done in a couple of minutes.
Now very happy with the results, luckily I made a note of what models were on the Tx as I'll have to rebind a load of Rx at some point, but knew that I'd lose all the existing models when doing the update.
