I totally ignore Facebook Marketplace. Saw a RC Submarine for £200 and contacted the seller, he informed me the price was just to draw buyers in and he actually wanted more that £700.
Another listing was for the castings for a seam engine listed at £100, he wanted £500.
I stopped shopping and only occasionally use it to list items.

Neil.
You have an uncanny knack of finding bargains 😂😂😂.
Bill 👍👍
I feel your pain.
I need to regulate my Facebook Marketplace visits.
I, too, have bought boats I didn't intend to off FB.
So far my collection resembles "The Island of Misfit Toys". I've picked up several boats that are old builds and have been neglected. I'm giving them the TLC they need, hoping to bring them back to their former glory. Once I get enough practice/ experience I intend to take on a full build.
Went to look at two boats today, came back with three.
I have a collection of Bowman pond yachts and this and this 20” version will slot in nicely between the 19” and 24” models. Needs some tidying up and new sails.
The black hull looks to be an Aerokits Fast Patrol launch, needs some cosmetic work, new rudder and I’ll sort a new motor etc. one for the project shelf.
Paid for these two and left, had a call from the seller about 10 minutes later, he’d found another one in a box so I drove back and picked up a Star Endeavour II / Mk2. As I also have a collection of Stars but didn’t have this one I ended up buying 3 boats. The Star needs some cosmetic work, but is complete.
Going to need a bigger project shelf.
