FT009 racing boats

Hi Davidm3. Had a rummage through the spares box and replace the RX control box completely and put in a brushed speed controller.
Managed to fit in a 1500ma 3sel battery. Runs ok on the bench and in my fish pond it will be given a real test tomorrow at our club pond.

have a look on AliExpress they sell the tx and spares for the FT 009, we at the Sheffield ship model society have a few of us that meet 2 to 3 times a week to race them, most fun we've had for ages. still don't know what the protocol is tho but they are cheap enough to replace the parts. just had a look and they have changed the radio to a new version cost around £33 for tx/rx combo good luck

Just recently, one of our NTMS members son saw someone throw a Lionel model train box in the dumpster. He dived, and found a complete set with engine, 4 cars, track and transformer!!!😎

My buddy JP was at a meeting of the Richardson RC club, the same club and field I flew at for years. Once in a while they have a mini swap meet after the meeting. He came home with a new, or near new Laser sailboat with transmitter and all for 15.00😀

Hi Hermank l agree with RodC if you attend the club meets and go to the main exhibitions you cant help but come home with some thing that for you is a piece of gold. you also have to lucky to be in the right place at the right time. stay safe you lot, Jim.

You just hav to attend a lot of sales, with an open mind & an open wallet. I once picked up a large (30"+) plastic twin with plastic gearbox for $5, researched her once i arrived at home 300km away, it was almost $300 in a hobbyshop. If you see something you must buy it, these opportunities seldom come along. You can always resell within your club circle if you regret your impulsivity.

Hi chaps hope all is well. Went to Headcorn the southern model show last week with the Chantry model boat club. What a beautiful couple of days bagged a few bargains well happy.
picked up FT 009 racing boat for a couple of pounds but without the remote transmitter here,s my question does anyone know what protocol they are on ie-
Frsky spectrum flysky or anyone of the multitude of bands on 2.4 meg. Look after yourselves stay safe Jim.
