    Good morning Duncan,
Carp braid is a nice fine line and is very free flowing, I have used this for rigging and have found that it doesn't stretch when under tension.
    Cheers Colin.
Fair winds and calm waters, COLIN.

Forse il colore รจ un pรฒ troppo appariscente. Non so se รจ adatto al Bruma.
Se per te va bene il colore non c'รจ problema perรฒ.

Maybe the color is a little too flashy. I don't know if it's suitable for Bruma.
However, if the color is fine for you there is no problem.

A while ago I was given some line which was described to me as shark fishing line. Is that similar to carp fishing line that has been recommended? See photo with a 20p piece to give an idea of the thickness. Cheers D

Just a couple of thoughts re the winch. Jane you worked out the length of line ( sheet) you need to let out to move the sails in and out. This will depend on where they are attached to the booms. Closer to the mast less movement required but more force required to pull them in. How many turns does the winch do and and the drum diameter will determine if the movement that can be achieved. Does the winch drum have one channel on it. If so tensioning can only be achieved by a piece of elastic.pulling the line tight. If the drum has two channels the a closed loop system can be used. That is for example the top feeding line out while the bottom reels it in. Have a look at how the system on an R C laser works or an IOM. Nylet also do a booklet and diagram showing this. Are the winches digital if so check the current draw
as they pull significantly more current and your receiver might not be able to handle it.

Hi Duncan good advice from Italy! Good point about using braided fishing line as it does not tangle up, it just falls into a pile.

I forgot to mention before, give the top of the tubes that have the keel rods some extra support at their top. Just extra bracing sideways so that the keel does not take the leverage which could weaken the planking.

    Regards
    Roy

Hi Duncan, you have probably got sufficient help now to be planning the job, but a couple of hints
1 keep it simple. In theory using two winches seems sensible but in practice one works sufficiently well and is simpler to install, set up, and control
2 keep it light. Two winches will add to the weight. On a small model like the Bruma this can make a real difference.
Have fun doing this and I wish you good luck. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Ciao Duncan

    Hallo Duncan
The advice you got from "roycv", "luckyduck" and "Trident73", contains very useful information. This information will also be useful for me in the future.
Regarding the holes on the deck and the tubes through which the sheets pass, I advise you to already establish the type and thickness of the string you want to use.
I would choose a string of the same color and thickness as those already present on the model. Therefore very thin (small diameter).
This way you won't have to make very large holes in the deck.
I used the line used for fishing, multi-braid for carp fishing.

I hope you post a lot of photos on the forum, because I'm very curious about the solution you will choose.
