Identify this Boat

Colin. it`s Willy again. Have a look at the safehavenmarine.com real boat web site. This Irish based company builds fast survey / fishing and pilot boats. Although some have a "Whaleback" deck line, you might get some ideas, Oh, just one word of warning, you will find it very hard to leave this web site as it is a mass of video footage of their boats on test and in service.

Identify this Boat

HI Dave,
Thanks for idea, and yes it is a good flare on the bow, with the top (27ozs) removed it really does plane well and with a pair of 7.2 volt NiCad's managed 15 mph.
So the idea of a fast fishing/smuggler boat intrigues me. Have you any photos of this type of vessel or could you please tell me where to look.
Thanks Colin.

HI Colin
The hull is very flared at the front so most likely a fast type vessel such as you suggest. Looks rather heavy but difficult to judge with all the paint! Are you intending to strip the hull right back? it will plane better if you can keep the weight down. My preference would be a fast attack naval craft but a fast fishing boat used for narcotics smuggling would be a novelty 😀
Can't wait to see your build blog, whatever you choose

Identify this Boat

Thanks for reply Willy,
Yes I agree the deck up, is made from solid blocks of balsa and ply, roughly shaped and painted. So this will all be recycled into other parts for this or another build. I have some plans that I thinks would be usable to create a superstructure to suit this Hull.
So far possibles are:-
1-Fire boat.
2-RTTL
3-Fast patrol boat.
4-Motor torpedo boat.
5-Fast fishing Boat. (based on one I've seen in Abberystwith Harbour)
Any other suggestions will be added to the list. Another thought just accurd to me, maybe able to use differant tops on same hull to give differant boats. I'm just thinking as I type.

Identify this Boat

It looks a little like a home made scratch built Vosper Gas Turbine private motor yacht that was built on a similar hull to the Brave Borderer class hulls. Cant remember the name of the boat but you could buy a plastic motorised model of it probably by Victory industries

Thanks I'll have to check this out, I thought the hull might be an Rescue or Target Towing Launch. Or high speed coastguard cutter.

Identify this Boat

HI Colin, Looks like your boat is a mixture of several craft, I can only recognise
the upper s/structure, looks like the part from a Graupner 'Pegasus III', but the rest has got me! hope this helps .......

Identify this Boat

HI fellow boaters, I was given an old boat for restoration/convertion, was wondering If anyone knew what Its supposed to be, the hull Is realy good, but from the deck up Its rubish, but It was obviously someones pride and joy once. I think It has great possabilities as some type of fast launch or fire boat.
So any Ideas that you guy's and gal's can think of would be warmly welcomed.
Twin screws, on direct drive from 2 off Ripmax 600 motors (working),
twin rudders on single servo (working),
27Mhz Hitec reciever (untested as no transmitter).
Viper marine 20Amp ESC(working).
The Hull Is 35.5 Inches long.
Throw the Ideas In the pot and I'll see what we get In the mix.
Thanks for looking Colin.

COLIN.
