Coast Guard Museum Northwest was/is a fantastic resource. They have provided me with plans for builds. I say "was/is" because I am unsure of their status. I currently have a request into them for 52' MLB plans, and 378' WHEC plans, but it was all done through the mail, old school, so maybe in a month or two they will get back to me. If not, I hope my donation goes to someone.
I did forget about the Midwest 47' kit that was mentioned, for some reason that boat has never peaked my interest to build.
Lew's Proboat is pretty awesome, and drives scale. Maybe took on too much water once? 🙄
There is one website that I found that has a few ship plans. I was able to get the 378' WHEC plans from, they also had a 180' buoy tender and a WHEC 270'. I will post link when I find it.
We need more Coast Guard vessels on our ponds!
Cheers
Kevin

Bruce,
I just got an email from someone building a 47 MLB by CG models (old). So I checked their site and you might be interesting in seeing this list.
(The USCG did have at least one WWII Fleet tug that they got from the navy. I've seen a large RC model of it - very impressive.)

Bruce,
Not much in USCG model kits out there other than Dumas. I believe that some of the recent kits have an ABS hull to make building a little easier.
I was given a 47 ft MLB (Pro-Boat RTR) in very good condition. So, you might get lucky and find one. Problem is that a lot of items are incorrect and I spent a lot of time upgrading mine.
If you are adventurous there are plans available (check eBay). The buoy tender looks quite interesting. There is a 40 ft utility boat that should be easy to build. (Dumas also has this as a kit. #1210 - $200.)
Another option is the USCG fast recovery cutter. This is a Dumas model (probably recent) with a PVC hull over wood frames.
Another option is a USCG tug. However, to me it is just another tug model in CG marking and colors.
Good luck!
