The thick end of the tapered stock goes attaches as the pivot point to the anchor. The thin end takes a shackle to the chain or rode.

Hi guys been busy decorating kitchen while my danforth anchor arrived from Sussex models so arrived today but just a quick one does the thin and have the bracket on the end for chain then rope or does the thickest and go into the anchor itself just not sure which way round pretty nice detail for the price apart from the smallest taks in the world which I suppose sent for fixing to the anchor itself as there’s no way there staying in unless I use a gold panel pin and bend at each end just unsure thickest or thinnest into anchor itself ps it’s not staying black as wanted silver
